A National Summit on Smart Grid and Climate Change

Using Smart Grid Technologies and Practices to Comply with the EPA Clean Power Plan and Increase Grid Resiliency

The 2nd Annual National Summit on Smart Grid & Climate Change brought together policymakers, utilities, technology companies, and a wide variety of environmental and energy stakeholders to address the role of smart grid technologies and practices in mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The Summit aimed to establish an understanding as to how smart grid can be an essential part of any climate action planning, whether in response to government emission restrictions (e.g. EPA’s Clean Power Plan or to increase resiliency to prepare for various climate change events and scenarios (e.g. severe weather events like Superstorm Sandy).

The Summit once again featured Roundtable Sessions with top business and government leaders, who discussed these issues with each other and with the audience. It also included in-depth breakout sessions in two tracks: Smart Grid & Mitigation and Smart Grid & Resiliency
